Free Kayaking in NYC

Let the beastly 1% crow about their fancy yachts and private jets.

Sweetie, you and I will go Kayaking in NYC.

Never been Kayaking?

No?

Then, here’s your chance to try it for FREE.

Get down to the Downtown Boathouse.

There are two locations – Pier 26 and Governor’s Island Pier 101.

The program runs from the middle of May through the middle of October on weekends and holidays and weather permitting, on weekday evenings too.

If you’re clueless about Kayaks, not to worry.

The good folks hosting this program provide free training as well Wednesday evenings from 6PM-8PM.

Classes are at Pier 26 on southern end of Hudson River Park on the Westside Highway just north of N Moore St.

Just get your bathing suit or shorts and T-shirt.

The program organizers provide everything else (Kayak, life jacket, paddle and tips on Kayaking).

For the 2018 season, Pier 26 and Governors Island boathouse locations open on May 9 & June 16 respectively.

You must know how to swim.

Check out details on the boathouse web site.

Important: They do not take reservations and it’s First Come First Serve.

So get there early.
